Keep in mind that income can be more than just your salary. There are generally two types of income: earned and unearned.

  • Earned income is what you receive as compensation for services (think: salary, bonuses, commissions, etc.).

  • Unearned income is also sometimes referred to as "passive income" and may include dividends from investments, capital gains from the sale of investments, income from trusts, government benefits, and other similar sources.

How to update your income and other financials on your financial disclosure schedule if you did not hire attorneys

Step 1: Navigate to the "Financial Disclosure" section from the left-hand side menu

Step 2: Select the plus sign next to the income section to add income for the appropriate year. You can update your income in the Financial Disclosure Section in the HelloPrenup platform.

Step 3: You do not need to regenerate your document, as it updates in real time. However, if you have not generated the agreement yet at this point, you DO need to regenerate (or generate the agreement for the first time).
