Keep in mind that income can be more than just your salary. There are generally two types of income: earned and unearned.
Earned income is what you receive as compensation for services (think: salary, bonuses, commissions, etc.).
Unearned income is also sometimes referred to as "passive income" and may include dividends from investments, capital gains from the sale of investments, income from trusts, government benefits, and other similar sources.
How to update financial disclosure if you don't have attorneys:
Step 1: Navigate to the "Financial Disclosure" section from the left-hand side menu
Step 2: Select the plus sign next to the income section to add income for the appropriate year. You can update your income in the Financial Disclosure Section in the HelloPrenup platform.
Step 3: You do not need to regenerate your document, as it updates in real time. However, if you have not generated the agreement yet at this point, you DO need to regenerate (or generate the agreement for the first time). Warning: When working with an attorney, regenerating the document will erase any significant edits previously saved and approved by the attorney. To maintain these edits, coordinate changes directly with your attorney using the platform.

Managing Updates and Attorney Review
When working with an attorney for legal review of your prenuptial agreement, it’s essential to coordinate updates properly to avoid overwriting critical edits. Here’s what you need to know:
Updating Questionnaires: If either partner makes changes to their questionnaire, the prenuptial agreement must be regenerated to reflect these updates. However, any significant edits previously saved and approved by an attorney will be erased if the document is regenerated.
Incorporating New Changes Without Erasing Attorney Edits: To maintain compliance with attorney-reviewed content:
If changes to the prenup are necessary after your attorney’s review, those updates must be incorporated directly using the document editor by the attorney.
Encourage your partner to obtain legal representation through HelloPrenup, allowing their attorney to apply changes directly within the platform. This ensures the integrity of legally critical revisions and the prenup’s finalized state remains intact.
Tracking Progress on Your Prenup
To ensure that all steps needed to complete your prenuptial agreement are met, follow this simple process:
Log in to your HelloPrenup account.
Use the Dashboard Status Bar: Navigate to the dashboard on your account. On this page, you’ll find a status bar that indicates what steps remain to finalize your prenup and a step by step guide on what to do next. The status bar is also accessible on your partner’s account dashboard for their view of progress. This feature allows you and your partner to collaboratively monitor the completion of required actions and steps.
